Gabriel F Urrutia

	What started out as an ambitious dream became a reality after college.  Gabriel F Urrutia was born in Miami, FL, USA to Cuban and Chilean parents.  Being a Hispanic, his passion was to join the beverage industry and open up dialogue and communication to better the marketing and sales of companies to Hispanics.  He knew that the channels to reach Hispanic niche markets was far too little and that it would be a long road before companies would start getting it right.

	Graduating in 2004 from Florida International University with a BS in Political Science, he wanted to take the beverage industry by storm.  Soon after his graduation, at the young age of 24, he began work with the US Marketing & Promotions Agency for Anheuser Busch.  For Anheuser Busch, he operated one of the only Hispanic markets and also being one of the only Hispanic market managers in the nation.  He put together case studies and passed them around to his colleagues to help them better understand Hispanic niches and marketing to Hispanics.  After 2 1/2 years with Anheuser Busch and numerous sales goals attained, Southern Wine & Spirits in Miami, FL, USA, hired Gabriel.
	
	While at Southern Wine, Gabriel was put in charge of one of the most challenging Hispanic markets in the nation.  While working mainly off-premise, Gabriel became #1 in the sales of Volvic water and #1 in the state in wine sales for CVS pharmacies.  His success in sales led him to another position on the supplier side with Chivas Bros.

	With Chivas Bros., at the age of 27, Gabriel became 1 of only 6 Brand Ambassadors in the United States and 1 of 3, bilingual Brand Ambassadors.  Gabriel spearheaded the marketing implementation, handled all T & E budgets and put together trade trainings and events.  He was also top 3 in the United States in the sales of Chivas 18 & Chivas 25 respectively.  The Miami market saw a growth of over 52%, one of the highest in the United States, during his tenure.  At the age of 28, Gabriel handled one of the most high volume markets of Chivas in Miami, FL.  He is well known in Miami for his special events and experience he has in the market.  At the age of 28, he was nominated and shortlisted for Young Achiever of The Year at the London International Wine Fair 2009 by The Drinks Business.  He was the only nominee from The United States.

	Gabriel started at the age of 24 and continues to shine in his positions.  His passion for the beverage industry and the Hispanic community knows no boundaries.  His tendency to integrate his specialized demographics program with Chivas and other companies has led him to plenty of success.  He wants to continue his passion for the beverage industry in regards to Hispanics for the rest of his career and looks forward to being at the top of his game.
